Iovine said she and Pichl ordered an Uber to take them from a friend's birthday party in Brooklyn to another party in East Village at around 5pm.

An Uber driver booted a party-hopping lesbian couple from his auto on Saturday after he saw them kissing in the back seat.

Ms Pichl, who noted that neither she nor Ms Iovine was intoxicated, added: "He started yelling at us that we were disrespectful and inappropriate and that he wants us out of his vehicle ... we were going back and forth trying to understand". "This doesn't feel right", Iovine said.

In the footage, Mr El Boutari says that kissing in an Uber is illegal - adding: "I don't want to argue with you, just get out of my vehicle". She thought he was joking, ' Iovine, an advertising technology consultant, said.

They claimed that the driver, Ahmad El Boutari, then booted them out of the auto - sparking an argument in the street.

Alex added: "My girlfriend started laughing".

The couple questioned him about his decision and asked him why they were not allowed to kiss.

Elbotari also spoke to the News, claiming that the couple was simply acting obnoxious, with one of them forcing the other to smell her armpit, playing music loudly on their phones, putting feet on the seat.

The Taxi and Limousine Commission and Uber are now investigating.

"It's disrespectful", El Boutari says.

"The blatantly discriminatory behavior described by the complainant is repugnant", said the spokesman.

"Get off of her phone". "I would be nervous I think to kiss Emma again in an Uber", Iovine said.

"I don't give a s-- about them".

"It's my own auto".

The company responded with a statement saying: 'Uber does not tolerate any form of discrimination, and we have reached out to the rider regarding her experience. "We are investigating and will take appropriate action".

"We've reached out to the victim, and will be starting the investigation today", Deputy Commissioner Allan Fromberg told the newspaper.

Iovine told the Daily News they didn't behave inappropriately.

NYC's TLC, which governs taxis and other "for hire" cars, became aware of the incident after the New York Daily News Story, which included the video the women recorded. "I was very surprised".

"It was a really bad experience", she said, "and ironically occurred on a bright sunny day during pride month in NYC". I haven't experienced homophobic behaviour in the city.

"It's 2018 in New York City, and this isn't the way we live anymore", commission spokesperson Allen Fromberg said. "This goes to show that it can happen anywhere".
