Didier Deshamps left many top stars out of his World Cup squad but kept faith with Lemar, who scored recently for France in a win over Colombia and bagged a brace previous year against the Dutch.

France travel to the World Cup on the back of a surprising 1-1 draw with the US in Lyon on Saturday night, but Griezmann reckons there's no need for his teammates to panic, and says their preparation for Australia starts now.

Lemar's potential transfer could have major implications for the future of compatriot Antoine Griezmann, who has been heavily linked with a move from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona.

"I am very sorry, but I will not be revealing my decision today", he said. I have made my choice.

The Atletico Madrid ace has always been linked with a big-money move to Camp Nou and has resolved to clarify his club future this week.

France coach Didier Deschamps prohibits players from undergoing negotiations during tournaments, pushing Griezmann towards making a decision. "In Spain some say that I stay at Atlético, others say I leave and I'll say it before the first game begins", he said recently. Jay Asser and the rest of the Sport360 team will be with you throughout the day with the latest news, rumours and insights from the Camp Nou.

Atletico are also reportedly close to signing Monaco winger Thomas Lemar to keep Griezmann happy, following his concerns with the all-round quality of the squad.
