Kate Middleton Comforts Prince George at Polo Game

Kate Middleton Comforts Prince George at Polo Game Kate Middleton Comforts Prince George at Polo Game

As members of the royal family, Prince William, Kate Middleton and their kids are under a microscope of sorts, and fans don't always react to their lives in the same way.

However, several people on Twitter have shared their outrage as one of the toys Prince George was playing with was a toy gun.

On September 5, 1990, during the 50th anniversary of Battle of Britain celebrations, six-year-old Prince Harry stood on a bench with two-year-old Princess Beatrice, in the balcony of Buckingham Palace-exactly where Savannah and George had their cute moment.

Four-year-old Prince George is experiencing his first royal backlash after he was pictured playing with a toy gun during his day at the polo.

George, who's known to have an interest in police, was also pictured playing with what looked like a toy knife and handcuffs.

The Duchess didn't only cheer up George this weekend, at Trooping the Colour, she had to comfort Charlotte too.

One person wrote: 'This was the only disappointing thing about today's polo match photos.

Another said: "This isn't okay anymore..."

"Here's why the sight of #PrinceGeorge playing with a toy gun is triggering for some of us".

But pictures from the day depicting George brandishing a toy gun cast a shadow on an otherwise happy day. (It appears that George, who asked for a toy police auto for Christmas, is still very interested in law enforcement.) While it's not unusual whatsoever for kids to play pretend, some people are taking issue with Middleton for allowing him to play with a toy that looks so similar to a real-life gun. Black mothers in the U.S. have to teach their sons not to play with anything (a toy gun, a cell phone, etc.) a policeman could claim looked like a real gun.

A third added: 'Prince George has a toy gun ....really!'.

Another expert, parenting coach Bea Marshall also weighed in, saying: "In my experience of raising my own sons, and also working with families around the world, one thing I have learned is that many children will find a way to create a gun no matter how hard you try to keep guns out of their world".

Prince William looked at the two playful children in front of him, seemingly unamused. Join the conversation over on our Facebook page and let us know your thoughts!
