Including bonuses, pay growth in full fell to 2.6% from 2.8% in the three months through February.
Today's ONS data showed that annual growth in earnings, excluding bonuses, edged up to 2.9 per cent in the three months to March. That means they outstripped CPI inflation for March which stood at 2.5 per cent.
It follows a year in which wages fell against inflation.
Tom Stevenson, investment director for personal investing at Fidelity International, says: 'British workers are feeling marginally better off after wages grew in real terms for the second month on the trot.
