Presidency Speaks On IGP's Alleged Disobedience To Buhari Order On Benue Presidency Speaks On IGP's Alleged Disobedience To Buhari Order On Benue

We are finished as a people to see how president Buhari turned our country into a theater of mockery and worldwide ridicule over his unpresidential statement at Benue, aired on national T.V nay global.

However, reacting to the criticism that followed the president's comment, the presidential spokesman, in his comment on a Channels Television programme, Sunrise Daily, on Tuesday, said there is the need to confirm from IGP Idris on what actually occurred.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday during a meeting with some stakeholders at the Government House in Makurdi, the Benue State capital said he is not aware that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, left Benue State for Nasarawa State after he was ordered to relocate to the state.

"Even now, they are still in the realm of allegations until we hear from the IGP".

About 30 correspondents from various media organisations including Punch, ThisDay, Vanguard, Tribune, New Telegraph, The Nation were said to have boycotted from the Benue Government House ahead of Buhari's arrival.

The party said President Buhari has irredeemably "indicted himself" for not knowing that the man tasked with the security of the nation failed to take orders from the Commander-in-Chief, stressing that such unpardonable gaffe is responsible for "government's wrecking of the nation's once robust economy as well as other woes that have befallen our nation in his nearly three years in office". President whose orders are disobeyed, is that one a leader?

It also criticized the President for trying to pass the buck to the IGP, a development which it said further exposed his lack of direct commitment and concern toward the well-being and security of Nigerians.

"The Benue State Governor, Sam Ortom, is amusing". Rather, in the character of this government, Mr. President engaged in yet another blame game instead of facing issues. He asked President Buhari to arrest the killer Fulani herdsmen that killed Benue people.

"This shows clinically that Mr President is truly not aware that Nigerians have since abandoned him in his state of unawareness".

"How can a President give a directive and it is ignored?"

Our correspondent noted that security operatives from Abuja took over the activities at the state's seat of government.

"Again, we maintain that our nation has been on auto-drive under the APC and Nigerians can not wait to end this nightmare come 2019".
