Wendy Williams takes leave from talk show after Graves' disease diagnosis Wendy Williams takes leave from talk show after Graves' disease diagnosis

Newly released images show a frail Wendy Williams exiting her talk show just a day before she announced that she was taking a break. Her health has made headlines in recent months after she fainted on-air during an October 31 episode of her show. In the images, Williams, 53, is seen being helped into an SUV, tightly gripping the arm of security guard to remain steady on her feet.

Graves' disease can be quite hard to detect early on and is sometimes confused with other conditions. The announcement was made on her show, where she stated that she would take three weeks off from the show, starting on Thursday, February 22.

You can see the images on the Daily Mail.

Daytime talk show host Wendy Williams says she's taking three weeks off on doctor's orders. People magazine reports that Williams needs the time off to focus on her hyperthyroidism and Graves' disease. Williams explained, "My thyroid, my hyperthyroid is attached also to Graves' disease".

Another symptom is unexpected weight loss, and in July of a year ago, rumors of anorexia were flying, which now looks to be another symptom of Graves' disease.

Though Williams knew she had thyroid problems, she said lately she had been feeling extra stressed and irritable. "I was pissed", she said.
