A Tennessee State football player has been expelled from the school after punching the team's strength and conditioning coach on the sideline, according to Mike Organ of the Tennesseean.

As the strength coach for the Tennessee State football team, T.J. Greenstone's main responsibilities lie in the weight room and not the field of play. Greenstone, who appeared to be knocked out, toppled to the ground on the sideline.

Lee, who did not play in Saturday's win, had 18 tackles including 3.5 for a loss this season.

TSU athletic director Teresa Phillips said in a statement, "We, of course, do not condone any act of violence within our department and are very disturbed by the action of one of our students".

Lee, 22, was expelled from the university on Monday.

During the time of the punches, Greenstone was reportedly walking down the sideline telling players to get back if they were toeing the line. In 2016, he made the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Lee was a criminal justice major who had started in two games this season.

It happened during Saturday's game against Southeast Missouri State at Hale Stadium.
