Just say "Ok Google, broadcast it's dinner time" and a dinner bell will ring on all your Google Homes. The latest feature to hit Google Assistant is broadcasting, which allows you to broadcast your voice from your phone to the Google Home devices around your house.

Google on Monday announced that you can now broadcast your voice to the smart speaker via its virtual Assistant.

Let us know if you're going to try this, or stick to text messaging your family for announcements (what a sad but convenient time we live in!).

For certain everyday things like waking up, dinnertime or settling down for bed, the Assistant can also send a playful message on your behalf. From this point on, you can use it to broadcast messages throughout your house - stuff like "it's time for school" or "breakfast is ready", you get the gist.

Simply say "Ok Google, broadcast" immediately followed by your message. You don't even have to be home to broadcast; the feature will work from anywhere with a cell connection, which is a nice touch. Just use Google Assistant on your smartphone to send messages to a Google Assistant-enabled device. It's rolling out today to devices that are set to U.S., Australia, Canada and U.K. English, with further language support coming soon.

See Google's help center for more examples on how to use this feature.
