Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a probe into the case and has assured strict action against the guilty.

Indian workers examine oxygen cylinders at the Baba Raghav Das Hospital in Gorakhpur. However, the tweet does not mention about oxygen or the lack of it.

She alleged that the concerned authorities never responded to the pending payments.

The Chief Minister also said, "We have constituted a committee to be lead by chief secretary to enquire the role of oxygen supplier in the incident".

When the oxygen supply finally stopped at around 7 am on Friday morning, Dr. Kafeel along with his team of junior doctors tried their best to ensure patients and their caretakers remain calm.

Earlier, Modi Chemical Private Limited used to supply oxygen cylinders to the hospital and its contract with the company ended in March. "We are ready to extend all possible help", said Dr Jagdish Prasad, director general health services (DGHS), Union health ministry.

The incident occured hardly two days after CM Yogi Adityanath had visited the medical college and instructed for improving the facilities. According to reports, 12 children were suffering from encephalitis. He had even inaugurated a ten bed ICU, a six bed Critical Care Unit.

Gorakhpur's district magistrate Rajeev Rautela said that no deaths have taken place in the medical college due to lack of oxygen supply.

"30 kids died in hospital without oxygen". Strick action is now taken in every hospital. The Congress President said that he has been deeply hurt by this horrific tragedy and he is deeply sympathetic to the families of those children who became victims of severe negligence and poor conduct of administration. Immediate action has been demanded by her against all those responsible for the terrible incident.

Singh said, "This is a matter for Uttar Pradesh and I don't know much about it". He also asked the Opposition not to politicise the deaths.

According to media reports, about 3000 children had expired since 2012. The principal, however, claimed that he had submitted his resignation before the submission order and accepted responsibility for the deaths.

The region is also one of India's poorest and registers hundreds of child deaths each year from Japanese Encephalitis and Acute Encephalitis Syndrome, which is rife in parts of eastern and northern India. "Who is responsible? etc", he was quoted as saying by the local media.
